Most profiles get claimed once and then sit there. We clean the whole thing up, top to bottom, so both Google and the AI tools people now ask for recommendations can actually read your business. Flat fee, no retainer, done in about a week.
The short version
Google Business Profile optimization is the work of completing and correcting every field on your business listing so search engines and AI tools can read it accurately. That means categories, services, description, hours, attributes, photos, and review activity. A complete profile gets surfaced in local results and cited in AI answers far more often than an incomplete one.
Here's the thing almost nobody tells small business owners: your Google Business Profile is no longer just a Maps listing. It has quietly become one of the main things AI tools read when someone asks for a recommendation near them. Google AI Overviews and Gemini pull from it directly. ChatGPT and Perplexity lean on the directories and search results that your profile shapes.
So when your profile is half-filled, you are not just losing a spot on the map. You are handing the AI a thin, vague description of your business and hoping it recommends you anyway. It usually doesn't. In our study of 28 Tampa Bay acupuncture practices, about 60% were never cited once across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, or Perplexity (Answer Visible Lab Report #1, 2026). Nearly all of them had a claimed profile. Almost none of them had a complete one.
01. The usual suspects
These are the same five things, over and over, on nearly every profile that comes across our desk. None of them are exotic. All of them are costing you.
The primary category carries more weight than any other single field, and most owners chose theirs in about four seconds during setup. If it's close-but-not-right, you're competing in the wrong race entirely. Secondary categories are usually either empty or stuffed with loosely related options that dilute the signal instead of strengthening it.
"Consultation." "Repair." "Cleaning." That tells an AI nothing about who you help or what problem you solve. Services written with the language your customers actually use, describing the specific problem each one addresses, are one of the most underused fields on the entire profile.
Total review count matters less than most people think. Recency matters more. A profile with 40 reviews and 5 in the last 90 days reads as an active, current business. A profile with 300 reviews and nothing since last fall reads as one that might not exist anymore.
An old suite number on one directory, a disconnected number on another, a former business name still floating around. Every inconsistency is a reason for an AI engine to be less confident it's looking at one real business rather than three sketchy ones.
Your site says one thing, your profile says another, and there's no structured data telling either system they're the same business. Schema markup is the piece that closes that loop, and most small business websites have none at all.
02. What you get
No vague "optimization." Here is the actual work, item by item, so you know exactly what you're buying.
01 / Audit
Every field, scored against what a complete profile looks like in your category. You get the findings in writing, not just the fixes, so you can see what was wrong and why it mattered.
02 / Categories
We look at what your competitors are using, what Google actually offers in your category tree, and what matches the work that brings in the most business. Then we set them properly.
03 / Services
Every service you offer, described in the words people use when they search for the problem, not the words the industry uses internally. This is where most profiles leave the most on the table.
04 / Description
750 characters that state clearly what you do, who you serve, and where. Written to be quotable by an AI tool rather than to sound impressive to nobody in particular.
05 / Attributes
The checkbox fields almost everyone skips: accessibility, amenities, service options, payment types, and owner attributes like veteran-owned or women-owned. They're specific, verifiable facts an AI can quote directly.
06 / Photos & posts
What's missing, what to shoot, and how often to add new ones. We upload what you have, hand you a short list of what to capture next, and set a posting cadence you can keep up with.
07 / Consistency
We check your details across the major directories, flag every mismatch we find, and give you a prioritized list of what to correct and where. Corrections you can't make yourself, we walk you through.
08 / Reviews
A short, repeatable process for asking: when to ask, what to say, and the direct link to hand people. Built to be run by you or your front desk in under a minute per customer.
09 / Schema
The structured data that tells AI engines your website and your profile are the same business. We write it and install it, or hand it to your web person with instructions if you'd rather.
03. Demystifying AI
This is the part that trips people up, so let's make it plain. For twenty years, the job was ranking: get your listing higher in a list, and people would click it. That still matters. But a growing share of people never see a list at all now. They ask a question and get one paragraph back with one or two business names in it.
Those names get chosen based on what the AI can find and verify about you. And every platform verifies a little differently, which is worth understanding because it changes what to prioritize.
It lives inside Google's own ecosystem, so your profile, your reviews, your posts, and your Maps data feed it directly. If you only fix one thing for one platform, profile completeness is the highest-leverage move here by a wide margin.
It tends to name fewer businesses per answer and it responds to genuine differentiation. Being the generic option in your category is the fastest way to be left out of a Gemini answer. Being the one that clearly does a particular thing gets you named.
It draws on training data plus live web results, which means third-party corroboration matters more here than your own profile does. Directory presence and consistent information across the web are doing the heavy lifting.
It depends on regular search results to find sources in the first place, so ordinary SEO fundamentals matter a lot for this one. If you're findable in classic search, you're findable to Perplexity.
The reason a profile cleanup moves all four at once is that they're drawing on overlapping evidence. Complete, consistent, specific information helps every one of them, just through different doors. That's the whole idea behind the work.
04. What it costs
We priced this to be an easy yes. It's a real piece of work, scoped tightly, at a number you don't need a board meeting to approve.
Profile Fix
Everything in the list above, delivered in about a week from the day you send us access. One invoice, no contract, no monthly anything.
Not sure whether you need this or something bigger? Send the form anyway. We'll look at your profile and tell you straight, and if a full visibility check is the better starting point we'll say so.
05. Fit
Being upfront about scope saves everybody a call.
| Option | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Profile Fix | $500 | Your profile exists but it's incomplete. One location, one cleanup, done. |
| Foundation Start | $1,300 | You're starting from nothing. Profile setup plus a lead-capture website, both built from scratch. |
| Foundation Fix | $1,000–$1,350 | A free audit found gaps across your profile and your website. Scoped after the audit. |
| Full Visibility Build | $2,200–$2,550 | A complete overhaul across profile, website, entity authority, and AI search visibility. |
06. Questions
It's the work of completing and correcting every field on your listing so search engines and AI tools can read it accurately. Categories, services, description, hours, attributes, photos, and review activity. A complete profile gets surfaced in local results and cited in AI answers considerably more often than an incomplete one. Our setup checklist covers the full field list if you'd rather do it yourself.
Profile Fix is a flat $500 for a single-location business with a claimed profile. No monthly retainer, no contract. If you later move up to a larger engagement within 60 days, $250 of that applies as credit.
Yes, and more than most people expect. Google AI Overviews and Gemini pull from Google Business Profile data directly when answering local questions. ChatGPT and Perplexity draw on directories and search results that your profile accuracy shapes. An incomplete or inconsistent profile weakens you across all four at once.
That's not part of Profile Fix. Suspension outcomes depend heavily on the specific violation and how the appeal goes, and anyone promising you a guaranteed reinstatement is overselling it. We wrote up what to actually do when your profile gets suspended, free, and Profile Fix is here once you're back online.
Yes. We're based in St. Petersburg and we know this market best, but profile work is done remotely and we take single-location businesses anywhere in the US.
Profile changes usually go live within a few days, though Google reviews some edits before publishing. Movement in local rankings and AI citations tends to follow over the next several weeks. Review velocity is the slow one, since it compounds over months rather than days, which is exactly why we hand you a protocol instead of just doing a one-time push.
The same person who scopes it. No account managers, no handoffs, nothing sent offshore. You can read more about how we work.
Two minutes of questions, then we go pull up your profile and check it against the same list we work from. You get the findings either way, whether you hire us or not.
