See all services →For most independent practices, it doesn't. We studied 28 acupuncture practices across Tampa Bay and found 11 that were never cited once, on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, or Gemini, across any of the queries a patient might actually ask. We build the signals that move a practice out of that group.
01. What's changed for acupuncture practices
A patient dealing with back pain, fertility struggles, or migraines increasingly asks an AI tool before they search Google. If your practice isn't named in that answer, the conversation often ends there, before they ever land on your website.
"Does acupuncture help with fertility," "how many sessions for back pain," "is acupuncture covered by insurance in Florida." These are the everyday questions that used to send someone to a search results page. Now an AI engine answers directly, and in our own data, condition-based queries produced far more consistent results across platforms than plain location searches did.
Health is a category where AI systems apply extra caution about who they cite, similar to legal and financial topics. Credentials, review recency, and consistent third-party corroboration matter more here than in most local categories. A good-looking site with none of that underneath often gets passed over entirely.
In our Tampa Bay study, a small handful of practices captured most of the citations while 11 of 28 never appeared once. That's not a quality-of-care gap. It's a signals gap: schema, condition-specific pages, and recent reviews the AI engines rely on to decide who to name.
02. What we do
AI visibility for an acupuncture practice is a set of overlapping signals, not one fix. We work across all of them, scoped to the conditions you treat and the market you actually compete in.
01 / Visibility Audit
We run your practice through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Perplexity across the condition and location queries patients actually use. You get a clear picture of where you're cited, where you're missing, and what's likely driving the gap.
02 / Google Business Profile
An incomplete profile, wrong categories, missing attributes, or stale hours is one of the most common reasons a practice gets overlooked. We audit, optimize, and maintain it.
03 / Schema & Structured Data
Only 46% of the practices in our Tampa Bay study had LocalBusiness schema in place. Structured data tells AI engines your services, location, and credentials in a format they can parse reliably. We implement it correctly and keep it current.
04 / Entity Authority & Review Velocity
In our study, 88% of cited practices had three or more Google reviews posted in the last 90 days, compared to 45% of practices that were never cited. We find the directory gaps, inconsistencies, and review-request gaps and close them.
05 / Condition-Specific Content
Practices with dedicated pages for specific conditions, like fertility, back pain, or migraines, were cited more than five times as often as those without. Only 36% of practices in our study had them. We build pages that answer real patient questions, written within FTC guidance on health claims rather than reaching for language that creates a problem later.
06 / Ongoing Monitoring
AI search behavior changes and so does the competitive field. We run regular tests across platforms and condition queries so you know where you stand and can catch regressions early.
03. How we handle health claims
Not medical or legal advice
Health is a category where any claim about outcomes needs to be accurate and substantiated, not just persuasive. We don't fabricate patient outcomes, testimonials, or credentials to fill a page, and we write within your scope of practice rather than reaching for language that reads as a medical guarantee.
That said, Answer Visible is not a licensing board and this page is not medical or legal advice. Any content we build should still go through your own compliance review before it publishes, checked against your state's acupuncture licensure requirements, the same way it would with any other marketing vendor.
04. How it works
Every engagement starts with a visibility audit so we're working from real data, not assumptions.
We run your practice through four AI platforms and send you a comprehensive report showing exactly where you're cited, where you're not, and what's likely driving the gap. No cost, no commitment.
If you want to go further, we do a complete audit: GBP, schema, entity signals, content gaps, competitor citation analysis for the conditions you treat. You get a prioritized roadmap with estimated impact for each item.
We do the work: schema markup, GBP optimization, directory cleanup, condition-specific content, reviewed for accuracy and health-claim awareness at every step. Same person who scoped it does the work.
Ongoing clients get regular citation testing across platforms, monthly reporting, and updates as platforms change.
05. Questions
It matters more for independent practices. In our own study of 28 Tampa Bay acupuncture practices, a small handful captured most of the AI citations while 11 practices never showed up once, on any platform, across any query. That pattern isn't about quality of care. It's about missing signals: schema, condition-specific content, and review recency AI engines rely on to decide who to name.
Health-related categories get extra scrutiny from AI engines, similar to legal and financial topics. We build content mindful of FTC guidance on substantiating health claims, and we don't fabricate outcomes, testimonials, or credentials. We are not a licensing board or legal advisor: any practice we work with should confirm published content against its own state licensure and scope-of-practice requirements.
Recent review velocity mattered more than total review count in our study: 88% of cited practices had at least three Google reviews posted in the last 90 days, compared to 45% of practices that were never cited. We help set up a review request system that keeps recent reviews coming in, alongside the other signals AI engines check.
Yes. Tampa Bay practices get prioritized because we know the market well and have published original research on it, but we work with independent practices across Florida and the US.
The initial visibility check is free. From there, engagements are scoped per practice based on what the free audit finds, whether that's a flat-fee Profile Fix, a Foundation Start for a practice with no online presence, or a full AI Search Visibility engagement.
We run your practice through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Perplexity and send you a comprehensive report within 48 hours. Real findings, plain language, no strings.
